Mark: The Gospel of Power
In this, the shortest of the gospels, we hear a story of power, action and salvation. How do the words in Mark's gospel help us know the very character of Jesus and come to know God better?

Sundays | 10 a.m. | Parlor

Join us Sundays at 10:00 AM in the Parlor for stimulating discussion around the Bible. Questions? Please contact Bob Simoneau at 619-223-6248.

First and Third Wednesdays of the Month | 7 - 8:30 p.m. | Point Loma

We are not a prayer group, though we incorporate prayer; we are not a support group, though support is found here; and we are not a Bible study, though the Bible is read here. We are a group that focuses on what God has done, is doing and will do in our lives as we begin practicing the spiritual disciplines. The goal of Refresh is to create a space where we can grow spiritually TOGETHER, to study the word TOGETHER, and to support each other TOGETHER in prayer. Our purpose is to encourage our members to practice the spiritual disciplines. We practice the spiritual disciplines that flow from His life, and between each meeting, do at least one of them on our own. We gather together to discuss our experiences, thereby learning what it means to encourage one another in our individual spiritual growth. It's OK to come when you're able; perfect attendance is not a requirement. All ages are welcome. For more information, please contact Jim Grisolia,

Prayer Quilt Ministry

Chapter Meetings | First Saturday of most months | Family Life Center
Prayer Team | Third Wednesday of the month | 9 a.m. | Prayer Quilt Member's Home
Quilting Workshops | Second and Fourth Wednesdays | 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.  |  Library

Who we are: Chapter 78 of Prayers and Squares – The Prayer Quilt Ministry. We formed fifteen years ago and our chapter has provided over 1750 prayer quilts to people in need over that time period. Everyone is welcome!
What we do: We make lap-sized quilts which are bound together with pearl cotton floss. When someone is in need of prayer, a quilt is selected, placed in front of the congregation and the people of the church “tie in prayers” utilizing the floss.
Why we do it: We believe in the power of prayer, and we are grateful for our ability to use our time and talent to serve God while also enjoying the special relationships that have developed over the years. We believe that it is important that people have a tangible reminder that people are praying for them in whatever they are going through. To request a prayer quilt or find out how you can get involved, please e-mail Karen Vandenberg  or call (858) 568-6115.
