Deacons
The office of Deacon is one of compassion, witness, and service after the example of Jesus. "Carry each other's burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ." Galatians 6:2
The role as a member of the Board of Deacons is one of the most important in the life of the church. Deacons are the "face" of the institution to which we belong, the personalization of what the love of Christ for His people means. Deacons are the one with whom to share joy and sorrow, the one from whom to get information, the one who gives comfort, the one who arrange for the smiling face at the church door, the one who inquires about absence or illness, the one who visits at home or in hospital and brings flowers from worship. In short they are Christ's hands and feet on earth in the life of the Church.
