Giving is an act of worship. In giving we have the opportunity to give back to God what He has entrusted to us. This includes all aspect of our lives, and often the things we cling to the most for our identity - our time, our talent, and our treasure.
Giving is not an obligation, as much as it is a gift that God has given to us. The act of giving is both spiritual and transforming, as it frees us from the tendency to think that we are in the ones in control and shifts our eyes to the One who is. The act of giving transforms our hearts and our minds as we release finite assets to a God that uses them infinitely. The act of giving is a tangible way to connect with God and God's world for the furthering of His Kingdom on this earth; a Kingdom which we have the opportunity to partner with God in extending to those around us.
The Old Testament standard for giving is ten percent of our time, talent, and treasure, but with Jesus true giving extends from the heart. As a result, giving based upon gratitude is the kind of giving God wants for each of us, there is no percentage for that kind of response! We give because God gave and continues to give to each of us every minute of every day.
Research shows that one of the biggest influences on whether kids keep their faith is the warmth of their family relationships. In other words, faith is often “caught” in the context of love, connection, and everyday moments together.
That’s why we created this Summer Bingo card! We want to help make space for those small, meaningful moments that build strong, faith-filled families. Bring back your Bingo card by August 9th to receive a prize for 5-in-a-row, and an even bigger prize for crossing off every single square!

As we reflect on how God designed each of us to reflect His goodness in the world—to multiply, fill the earth, and steward His gifts faithfully—would you join us in living out that divine design by giving to Point Loma Church this year?

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the Generation to Generation Capital Campaign. Your generosity will have a lasting impact in our church and the broader Point Loma community. "In every way I’ve shown you that by laboring like this, it is necessary to help the weak and to keep in mind the words of the Lord Jesus, for He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ” Acts 20:35
