For more than 20 years, Point Loma Community Presbyterian Church has partnered with Rancho Genesis near Ensenada, Mexico—a ministry that creates a week of joy, care, and connection for orphaned and vulnerable children. Each July, families and individuals from PLCPC travel south of the border to be part of this powerful mission experience, forming “families” with small groups of children and sharing the love of God through a vibrant summer camp-style week.
Throughout the trip, volunteers and niños participate in activities like Vacation Bible School, swimming, hiking, and campfires—all designed to build trust, offer encouragement, and reflect God’s presence through authentic relationship. Rancho Genesis provides a safe and nurturing setting, and its dedicated staff lead with expertise and heart. Whether it’s a child discovering joy in nature or a mission team member finding renewed purpose through service, transformation flows both ways.
This meaningful trip takes place every July, and it’s open to individuals, couples, and families of all ages. Many participants return year after year, drawn by the deep relationships formed, the opportunity to serve, and the chance to experience Jesus in a unique and life-giving way. If you're considering going, mark your calendar and look out for future info sessions in the spring.
Even if you’re not able to travel, you can still be part of the impact. Each year, we invite our church community to support the mission through prayer and donations. Gifts help cover participant costs and supplies for the children. Together, we can strengthen the church and transform lives—both near and far.
