
We have 2 classes available for children where they develop music and drama skills in preparation for the Spring musical. Music & Movement is for ages 4-grade 1 on Wednesdays, 4:00-4:45pm starting Jan 14. Choir & Drama is for grades 2-6 on Thursdays, 4:00pm-6:00pm starting Jan 15.
The Tony-winning musical 1776 is coming to PLCPC through a special co-production with Vanguard Theatre! This dramatic look at the struggle and negotiation behind the Declaration of Independence will run next Summer June 26–28, July 3–5, and July 10–12, 2026, and you are invited! Experience the joy and celebration of worship by singing with other adults for our Easter services. Rehearsals are on Thursdays, 7:00-8:00pm, starting February 26. Email to join.
Visual artists within our community meet on a monthly basis to encourage one another. The artists also participate in art exhibits by creating unique, original pieces of artwork to express the concepts aligning to the theme. At our Sanctuary Worship Service, you will enjoy traditional hymns led by organist Alicia McMillan, pianist Bryan Verhoye, and the New Covenant Choir. The Worship Band also performs twice a month to play contemporary hymn arrangements. Some Sundays, Ringers ReJOYce! and/or the children's choir will perform.
At the Online Worship Service premiering every Sunday at 9:30 a.m. available our website and via YouTube, worship is a combination of traditional hymns and contemporary worship music.
At the Chapel Worship Service on Sundays at 10:30 am, the Café Worship Band plays inspiring, contemporary songs from some of today's top Christian artists. The worship team is led by RO Smith and consists of a dedicated team of musicians on rotation, which changes from week to week.
The New Covenant Choir performs at the 9:00 am service each Sunday. We also pre-record hymns and special music for our online service. For Easter and Christmas programs, our music ministry is accompanied by members of the San Diego Symphony Orchestra. Founded May 1974, the Ringers ReJOYce! English Handbell Ensemble has performed at various venues throughout the San Diego area. Most often, they participate to enhance the Sunday morning worship services and other events at the Point Loma Community Presbyterian Church, all to the glory of God. Join us each year for our annual grand Christmas Concert for the Community. This spectacular event brings together the New Covenant Choir and our Children's and Youth Choirs, who are joined by members of the San Diego Symphony. Featuring our own organist Alicia McMillan, pianist Bryan Verhoye, and select solo performances, the evening is filled with favorite carols and orchestral works. The Ringers ReJOYce! English Handbell Ensemble also join in the merriment.
