Visual Arts Ministry

Visual artists within our community meet on a monthly basis to encourage one another. The artists also participate in art exhibits by creating unique, original pieces of artwork to express the concepts aligning to the theme. Contact Melissa Mullins  if you would like more information on the ministry.

Community Mural Workshop
February 8, 9-11 am

We invite the entire Point Loma community to make their unique mark on a community mural. Learn about pattern-making from muralist and public artist, Molly Z and then participate in creating a community mural that will be on display at Point Loma Church. No artistic skill is necessary and this is open to all ages. We hope to see you at this FREE Community Mural Workshop on Saturday, February 8 from 9-11a.m. We can make beautiful things when we come together!

Lord's Prayer Lenten Art Exhibit

During the Lent season, we will be focusing on the Lord’s Prayer and how this sacred text unifies us to one another - as well as generations before and after us.  For participation in the art show, you may choose any word or phrase, in any translation, from the Lord’s Prayer that resonates with you to base your artwork on.

Choosing Unity Art Exhibit  | Fall 2024

Our unity, in the context of our diversity, is God's greatest desire. Our "oneness" invites others into the life-changing power of the resurrection. As we embark on the theme this year of Choosing Unity, may God challenge us in the ways we cause factions in the Church and give us ears to listen to one another in our differences.

Walk With Me Lent Art Exhibit

In this season of Lent, artists from the Point Loma Church community are engaging in a new practice. Each artist has taken the scripture from the respective Sundays and created a piece of artwork. Every Sunday of Lent, we will have the opportunity to see these works of art and hear from the artists about their process and how the scripture spoke to them. And then during Holy Week on March 27 and 28, we will have the opportunity to see all of the original pieces of art on display in our chapel.
